IE is Going to Haunt Us for All of Eternity

Posted by Kevin Davis on Tuesday, September 27, 2011

I was browsing my twitter feed this morning and came across a very interesting article by the famous Paul Irish. After reading this I wasn't too surprised at it. Microsoft has created one good browser and that was IE 6, I should say at the time not anymore though. IE 6 paved the way for internet browsers but the lack of updating and not forcing updates by Microsoft has made them the kryptonite of web developing. A brief explanation of the article, Paul is talking about how in the future, developers will need to test their websites in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera, and get ready...10 different IE's (72 different modes actually). That's right, I said 10. I hate doing it now not alone 10. Why do they do this to us? And I don't want to hear the same old excuse of, "oh companies can afford to upgrade" or "programs are developed in old versions, derp derp". We are tyring to make a better web here and Microsoft, like always, is kneeing us in the genitals.  Heres a link to the article, you can check it out for yourself.
